Cathedral of St. Joseph

San Jose, California

San Jose became a diocese (previously part of the Archdiocese of San Francisco) in 1981. I was present for that Mass. St. Joseph Church (originally founded by the Jesuits as is evident from much of the painting and stained glass windows) was elevated to a cathedral in 1985.

Welcome to Small Catholic

I’m fascinated by contrasts and have long enjoyed the concept of smallness, perhaps especially in the context of the wonder that comes from gazing up into the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica or enjoying the vastness of a starry sky.

I’m a Catholic, deacon-ordinand-wife, mom/mom-in-law to 7; newly-minted grammy; retired homeschool mom & parish DRE; ADHD, Celiac, HSP; I love learning and writing.
